This traditional style kitchen is a perfect mix of the owners’ contemporary spirit with the tradition of Canadian log-cabin homes. The Mexican Terra-Cotta flooring and the European-influenced interior offer a gregarious and warm atmosphere. The cabinets, made of black stained birch with sanded corners have Shaker style doors with wide panels that add character and originality to the room. In order to ensure uniformity throughout the kitchen the refrigerator, wine cellar and dishwasher are also dressed in the same manner, thus integrating them perfectly into the décor. Designed to maximize space, this kitchen provides numerous drawers and storage spaces and equally offers large working surfaces made of honed marble. It is also punctuated with open spaces such as the library, niches and shelves allowing the exposure of a number of decorative elements on top of the practicality of easily accessible cookbooks. In the entry adjacent to the kitchen, the bench and storage area were built in the same manner to create consistency throughout the house.
